La Pharmacie

We had some sad news today. We found out that one of our friends from church passed away suddenly today. His body was found by another church member after he didn't answer the phone for a couple of days. It's really awful. Please keep the family of Roger Allen Baker in your thoughts and prayers for us. His family depended on him a lot and they will need God with them during this awful time.

Well Cyn broke down and went to a pharmacy today - THANK GOD! She got some sort of cold medicine (we think) and some orange juice. Thanks for all of your well-wishes! I hope this stuff works! Funny thing about France - there is always an opportunity to participate in "us versus them" sorts of exchanges. Cindy got to experience this first hand as she and an older man were in line together at the Pharmacie while the worker was trying to shut down the line. They decided to revolt and stay in the line anyway. They united against "the man" without words - just smiles, laughs and body language. French people are not as rude as you think - you just have to understand their point of reference :-)

The good news for today is that she was also able to get the electronics / appliances ordered and they should arrive (along with our IKEA order and our shipment from Tennessee) on Friday! So - it looks like we will be able to vacate the hotel - before we get the boot! Praise God! Just incase you didn't know - in Paris, you normally get a kitchen without anything in it. Literally – it’s a square with electrical outlets and water pipes. Our kitchen had cabinets (we were lucky) so she only had to buy a stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave! Can you believe that -ish? :)

Funny thing - she was able to strategically plan this shopping expedition while I was working. She really got back at me for our Tennessee TV (12 inches) by buying a 42 inch flat screen - Lee you would really be proud. She also managed to get a British satellite - so if we are allowed to set it up at our apartment then we will have some English TV. LOL.

On another note, I had a phone call today on my Nashville work number. It looks like you can call us there without having to pay international rates. Just an FYI. If you need the number, shoot me an email. We would love to see you emails - feel free to write to either one of us.

Love you
Lola

I'm sorry to hear that about your church friend and will say a prayer for his family. I hope you guys are doing better as the time passes and that you're staying warm! I can't wait to see pics of the new place - can you please send me your address? Love you and miss you!
